- 1
Do the label sheet on a Monday. Spanish calendars start the week on lunes, so start there: write lunes in box one on a real Monday, and add one box each morning until the week is full.
- 2
Keep the days lowercase. Days are not capitalized in Spanish. If your child writes Lunes, point to the chart and fix it together, without fuss.
- 3
Trace and say, twice. The trace sheet has each day two times. Say the day aloud on the first pass; on the second, your child says it alone.
- 4
Save the fill-in sheet for breakfast. Ask ¿Qué día es hoy? before anyone eats. Answer together, then complete Hoy es ___, mañana es ___ on the sheet.
- 5
Leave the finished week on the fridge. Each morning, point to today's box and ask the breakfast question again. The sheet becomes the family calendar for that week.
Every day on these sheets is on the Spanish days of the week chart, with the planet behind each name and the breakfast question. Tape the chart where the family eats and keep the sheets in a folder beside it.
