- 1
Hold up a crayon for every word. Before the trace sheet, lay the crayons out. Hold up the red one and say rojo; your child traces the word, then draws a short stripe beside it in that color. Twelve words, twelve stripes.
- 2
Say the word while the line is drawn. On the match sheet, your child draws from the word to the color dot and says the word on the way: verde. If they cannot read it yet, you read it and they find the dot.
- 3
Read the word bank out loud first. On the label sheet, read every word in the bank once before any writing starts. Your child crosses each word off as it goes under its square, so the last blank is always the easy one.
- 4
Finish the sentences, then go looking. After the fill-in sheet, read each sentence aloud together, then ask ¿Qué más es rojo? and point to something red in the room. One color per sentence is enough.
- 5
Celeste gets its own crayon. Celeste is sky blue, a separate everyday color word from azul. If the box has only one blue, press lightly for celeste and hard for azul.
